Living in a coastal city means feeling the vibe of festivals all summer long. This summer I’ll be enjoying myself at several fairs, music festivals and a big sail festival event. So I NEED some appropriate clothing!!
George & Ginger came to the rescue with this tour. My fashion association with festivals are mini skirts and scarfs. So I took that as inspiration to create my own dress.
I picked the Illusion Tunic and the Riot Skirt and mashed it into a supercool festival dress.
I choose a flowy knit for the “wing”-part with a black and white print and a stabil black knit for the skirt & sleeves. I mashed two pattern pieces and sewed the dress together. The sleeves and bottom of the skirt are hemmed, and the “wing”-part is finished with a rolled hem for an even more flowy look. I love the look and feel of this dress!
Do you want to do the same thing? Just take the pattern pieces of the skirt and the shirt part and lay them on top of each other. Pick the length that you want, and blend the top of the skirt with the bottom of the shirt. Et voila: there you have your new piece of the dress. Sew together the way the instructions tell you to.
